Singing and Vocal Expression

The course is aimed at adults as well as children.

Adults
Vocal work with our instructors will guide you, especially, in exploring the following aspects of the art of singing:
A conscientious but serene control of the breath, enabling you to sing long legato phrases; A conscious way of handling the sound and resonances, which leads to moving easily through the different vocal registers (chest, mixed and head voice); An attentive ear and accurate diction leading to a confident intonation and clear articulation of the text; An aesthetic expression that leads to interpreting the sung songs with personality.
These artistic goals go hand in hand with fulfilment and connection with one’s own body, authenticity and freedom in the realm of life.

The means
Basics from the bel canto technique (where there is interest, the subject can be deepened). Chamber music pieces as well as songs from oral and regional traditions from all over the world (lullabies, serenades, resistance songs, dance songs…) Collaboration on pieces chosen by the pupils (all musical genres)

Children
The work with the children is inspired by Micaela’s experience in the Orff Schulwerk methodology.

In addition to age-appropriate vocal training, she leads the child through an artistic adventure in which singing, theatre, dance and music become one.

The means to achieve the goal are classical and modern pieces of music, which the child will learn to know and interpret according to his or her age and imagination. Learning the musical terms necessary for the performance of the pieces is part of the course (solfeggio, elements of harmony and ear training).
