Susanne Köhler, born and raised in Aachen, was enthusiastic about music from an early age and decided to play the flute.

After her music studies at the Alanushochschule she went to Hannover, taught at various music schools and played in various classical chamber music formations. From 1990 – 2002 she was teaching at the “Freie Musikschule Hannover e.V.” From 2003 – 2022 she taught flute, recorder and chamber music at the Musikschule Wedemark e.V. Since 2017 she is also a lecturer for flute and recorder at the Musikschule Simplay Berlin.

Since 2000 she expanded her musical knowledge in the areas of Jazz and Latinjazz. The Salsabigband Labiba from Hannover Laatzen promoted her enthusiasm for Latin American music. Since 2005 Susanne lives in Berlin and plays among other things in a duo with guitar with her partner Gerd Schöpfer, as well as in various projects with organ, piano and solo.
